I’m Adam and I help business owners simplify and grow their businesses through intentional strategies. As a former bank executive turned entrepreneur, I understand the value of having a clear business strategy. In the banking industry, regulators want to see that banks have in-depth and intentional strategic plans. They do this because strategic plans, when implemented effectively, can have a major impact on any organization as they help prioritize goals, set plans of action, and bring a level of accountability to complete each strategy. In other words, banking regulators understand that strategic business plans work, and this is why they hold banks accountable to certain business strategies - so the banks continue to grow and don’t fail.
If you are like many of the business owners I know, there is no one pressing you to have a strategic plan for your business and there is always something more urgent than focusing on long-term strategies. But the truth is that a clear strategic direction for your business is probably the single most important thing you as the business owner can focus on. Your business strategy can be the difference between just getting by and being wildly successful.
My goal is to make strategy for your business simple, effective, and fun.
Over the years, I’ve come to value three things: simplicity, effectiveness, and fun. As a business owner myself, I’ve learned the value of being results oriented, but also understand the importance of keeping things simple. A simple approach helps keep the focus clear, saves time, and often eliminates extra expense and avoids wasting time. And I’ve found it’s much more enjoyable if we have a little fun in the process.
Fortunately, a strategy for your business doesn’t have to be complex. Simple strategies, implemented a bit at a time throughout the year, can absolutely transform your business. It’s really just a matter of getting started and following through.
If you are a business owner who is looking to be more strategic with your business this year, I believe there are 3 main strategies every business should begin with:
An email marketing strategy. Whether you already have an email list or would just be getting started, implementing a clear email marketing strategy is one of the best things your organization can do. Think about it - you can just wait for your customers to come to you when (and if) they feel like it, or you can intentionally reach out to them to get sales on your terms, when you want them. Which would you rather have?
Creating a clear sales path. A sales path is an intentional road map you create to take your customers from being only a prospect who just discovered your business, to becoming a raving fan who is not only a loyal customer, but also one who brings business to you. I believe that a sales path should have four clear steps, which you can learn more about by clicking here.
